Darrell Walters, PhD, LMFT

Darrell Walters, PhD, LMFT is a clinical neuropsychologist with over 15 years of experience working with children, teens, and adults. He specializes in uncovering the root causes of developmental, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive challenges—and in helping individuals and families build a clear, actionable path forward. His clinical approach integrates current research in neuroscience, developmental psychology, and interpersonal neurobiology, with an emphasis on understanding the whole person rather than managing isolated symptoms.

Dr. Darrell works with a wide range of neurodevelopmental and life-adjustment challenges, including ADHD, Autism, executive functioning difficulties, anxiety, OCD, and mood dysregulation. He also has deep experience with giftedness, learning disabilities, self-esteem and motivation, and oppositional behaviors.

In addition to psychotherapy, Dr. Darrell provides comprehensive neuropsychological assessments designed to identify the source of struggles and surface strengths. Each report captures a detailed profile of how a client learns, thinks, processes information, and responds to their environment. The recommendations within create a blueprint that helps families, educators, and other professionals work together—offering essential guidance for interventions, accommodations, and the kind of support that helps individuals thrive.

As the founder of Mighty Village, Dr. Darrell has built a practice that brings together neuropsychological assessment, psychotherapy, and advanced neurotherapies—including QEEG brain mapping, neurofeedback, and tDCS/tACS—into a single, integrative clinical environment. The goal is to move beyond symptom management and equip individuals and families with the insights, skills, and resilience needed for long-term well-being.

Payment

While Mighty Village does not accept insurance, we are happy to provide you with appropriate documentation and properly coded forms for you to submit to your insurance company. Cash or check are accepted for payment. Our office can put your credit card on file for a one-time or recurring fee.

Insurance Reimbursement

Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health benefits?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
  • How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

In many cases, reimbursement depends on the diagnosis. Please keep in mind that what insurance companies consider to be a percentage of reimbursement for "usual and customary" fees are not based on true charges.

All fees are payable at the time of the visit. Our office will provide a statement for your insurance company upon request. We will not directly bill your insurance company. You are responsible for all billing and collection of reimbursements from your insurance company.

Cancellation Policy

If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session as booked.
